Shooters who prefer heavy bullets and carry the 147 grain version of Speer’s Gold Dot 9mm Parabellum load will find these Lawman cartridges ideal for range practice. The total metal jacket bullet achieves a muzzle velocity of 985 feet per second and possesses the same ballistic traits as its companion Gold Dot cartridge. The TMJ plating covers the base of the bullet and reduces lead exposure but renders the bullet unusable in ported barrels. Since ported barrels primarily appear on competition guns, this tradeoff does not affect the vast majority of carry and duty firearms and helps keep costs down for the shooter.
Speer is a longtime manufacturer of bullets and ammunition with a strong reputation among law enforcement professionals and CCW holders. The company offers its Gold Dot jacketed hollow points and Lawman target ammo in a wide variety of cartridge types. Founded in 1944, Speer is headquartered in Lewiston, Idaho near sister company CCI
